In honor of P.S. I Love You Day and Valentine’s Day, I wanted to spotlight a pattern that is all about love: the Ahava Hat.
P.S. I Love You Day is a mental health awareness day celebrated annually on the second Friday of February. In 2026, it falls on today, February 13th.
It was founded by Brooke DiPalma after she lost her father to suicide. The name comes from the last three words he said to her: "I love you." The mission of the day is to:
The signature tradition is for people to wear purple to represent these goals and spread kindness. Because it falls right around Valentine's Day, it’s a beautiful way to shift the focus toward deeper emotional support and checking in on our friends and neighbors.
I want you to know how much everyone in this community means to me. Beyond the stitches and the yarn, you are the heart of why I do this. Whether we are chatting on Zoom or sharing progress photos, please know that you are valued, you are seen, and you are a vital part of this fiber family. Let’s look out for one another - and if you’re wearing purple today, I’m right there with you!
"Ahava" means love in Hebrew, and I absolutely adore seeing how you all make this pattern your own. Check out these beautiful projects from our community on Ravelry.
As a special treat, use code PSILOVEYOU for a discount on Ravelry when you grab my Ahava Hat pattern this week!
Note: Make sure you are logged in to your Ravelry account!

I have a little "Galentine" gift for you! I've designed a free printable card you can use for your knitting besties, your favorite local yarn shop owner, or even as a cheeky little hint left on the fridge for your family!
We all know how much heart (and storage space!) we devote to our yarn collections ... so telling someone they rank above your carefully curated fiber stash? That’s the ultimate compliment.
This card is my way of saying thank you for being part of this wonderful community. Just download, print it out on some nice cardstock, and share the fiber love!

We are getting so close to 7,500 members in our Double the Stitches community! 🤯 To celebrate this milestone and add a little laughter to our Friday, I’m hosting a "Finish the Sentence" game in the group today.
I shared my own dream date in the post:
"You know you’re a knitter when your idea of a romantic date is ... a trip to the LYS to touch every skein, followed by an evening casting on while watching a show with hubby." 😍
Now it’s your turn! How would you finish that sentence?
