While I rest and get stronger each day during my recovery from surgery, I want to take a few moments to share something a bit different with you.
I'm going to get a little raw & honest about some of the struggles of being a knitting pattern designer here, because I think there might be a few of you with whom this really resonates!

It took me a long time to make the leap from knitting for fun to selling my knits (and getting burnt out creating the same thing on repeat) to making the pivot to having enough confidence to list my first pattern on Ravelry.
And ... even longer after that until I was finally able to unlock the secrets to turning my passion for designing patterns into this beautiful, messy, flexible life where I get to do this full-time while being there for my boys as they grow! I wouldn't change it for the world.
It's a balancing act, for sure ... and I wear more business "hats" than I ever imagined from marketing, to pricing, and all the behind-the-scenes work. There are some weeks where I don't even pick up the needles because I'm too busy with the other stuff!
The imposter syndrome is really real some days ... spending hours on beautiful designs but feeling unsure how to get them into the hands of eager knitters. It can be so frustrating to see all that hard work go under appreciated, and it can leave you wondering if it's even possible to make a real go of this.
