Hey Reader, it's Jessica!
I’m so excited to share something special with you today … my newest knitting pattern, The Luckiest Socks, is officially live! 🍀 🧦
Every so often, a design arrives with a little extra heart stitched into it ... and this one absolutely did. It was something I dreamed up during a rare quiet getaway together - just the two of us, no schedules, no rushing - that the idea for these socks first took shape.
These socks also feel extra meaningful because my husband and I celebrated our 18th anniversary this month. And, today my parents are celebrating their 54th anniversary. 🥂 🥂
There’s something so special about creating a design in a moment of connection, and The Luckiest Socks will always remind me of that getaway, and of the beautiful life we’ve built together stitch by stitch.
Inspired by the lyrics of “The Luckiest” by Ben Folds, this design is my love letter to those who make us feel grounded, cherished, and - well - truly lucky. 🎶 Click here to listen on YouTube 🎶
🧦 Meet The Luckiest Socks
A simple, gently textured stitch pattern - created with crossed stitches - runs across the top of the foot and front of the leg. It’s rhythmic, relaxing, and so satisfying to knit.
These socks are knit from the toe-up, with a heel-flap and gusset construction, using some of my favorite techniques along the way.
Knitters who love DK-weight socks will swoon. They knit up quickly, feel dreamy on your feet, and make a thoughtful handmade gift … or a comforting treat for yourself.
The pattern is available now on Ravelry + Payhip at a special discount with code LUCKY18 until Sunday night!
📝 What’s Inside the Pattern:
✔️ Fully written instructions
✔️ A Chart for the stitch repeat
✔️ Video tutorials for the special stitches
✔️ 5 sizes for adult feet
✔️ Designed for DK-weight yarn
📏 Sizing + Gauge Notes
These socks are designed with a specific round gauge in mind - essential for achieving the correct gusset and overall fit. If your round gauge differs, the fit may change (especially if you have high arches), so a quick gauge swatch in the round is strongly recommended. I also suggest adding a lifeline before beginning to work the gusset - just in case you need it - and I noted that in the pattern for you. 😉
🧶 Let's Talk About Yarn
You’ll need one color of DK-weight yarn, approximately 221 - 363 yards or 202 - 332 meters, depending on size.
For my sample socks, I used Bad Sheep Yarn Merino Nylon DK in the colorway Sea Glass, a stunning hand-dyed yarn that shows off the texture of the stitches beautifully. And .. you can score a discount with my affiliate code DTS10!
Whether you knit these socks as a gift for someone who makes you feel like the luckiest … or for yourself as a reminder of the people who fill your life with love … I hope these socks bring you as much joy as they brought me while designing them.
